University of Miami faculty, clinicians and investigators (staff, trainees and students, as well as external subcontractors/ subawardees involved in research or sponsored activities) complete the disclosure certification process using the UDisclose System at least once a year, and update their disclosure certifications when necessary.
When funding is imminent (UM has received a notice of grant award or a contract or when a PD/PI is told by a funding entity that he/she is likely to be receive an award), the PD/PI (or proxy) designates to a UDisclose Triggering Event those team members who are substantively involved in the design, conduct or reporting of the project. Each team member then completes a research disclosure certification specific for the project.
Disclosure certifications are then reviewed to determine if outside relationships are related to an investigator’s sponsored work.
